A welcome to country by a recognised traditional owner.
A Welcome is a protocol where Traditional Custodians welcome others to their Ancestral Country.
A Welcome is different to an Acknowledgement of Country. A Welcome is a ceremony performed by a local Aboriginal person (usually an Elder) to acknowledge and give blessing to events taking place on their traditional lands. It is a sign of respect and protocol and has important cultural significance for Aboriginal people. Our Welcome to Country requests will be forwarded onto The Jinibara Peoples Aboriginal Corporation. Welcomes can also include the Jinibara Dance Troupe.
